So much nice nice…
GOOD MORNING…
So I was looking at my old cameras and I have a little question, can anyone tell me what the hell is on my table?
And look it looks like some sort of alien is trying to abduct my hot tub. Hey you aliens, if you take that hot tub, you better leave another one for me. Or I am coming up to our planet and take the center of your damn relaxation.
So I have spoken briefly about how much I am enjoying this tour. And the meal I got to have in Austin last night is just another example of how great touring with these guys is. Great peppers with smoked salt.
I usually do not go to label dinners when on tour. I don’t like to be away from the venue for that long, who knows what could happen. I made an exception because at Emo’s in Austin, there isn’t a whole lot that can go wrong. I am not saying that because the place is so great, but because unless the building burned down it couldn’t get any worse. Not pictured is the miso soup and Edamame and Spicy Edamame we were served. This is Halibut Sashimi with Serrano Vinaigrette.
I am not saying that Emo’s is a bad place, it is one of the best pieces of shit venues in the country. Roast Sea Bass with beat and vanilla (Sea Bass marinated in sake for 3 days first)
And it is always great to go back to Emo’s, although it was the first time I went back since Graham left to start his own company, and there was something missing from the experience. This is Kobe Beef Ishiyaki. We are cooking it on a rock that is 1000 degrees at our table. Our server says once someone didn’t believe her and put the palm of his hand straight on the rock. He had to go to the hopsital. We stayed away from it.
People are surprised when I tell them that you can get good fish in the middle of the country. But they have these things called planes that move it around. Aji and Toro Nigiri
This sake was delicious, but not as good as the Divine Droplets that the chef brought out for us to enjoy.
This was a crowd favorite, It was a plate with four different meets on it. Escolar Robata with Thai Basil and Kabocha, Scallop Robata with Spicy Eggplant, Berkshire Pokr Robata with Smoke Miso and Grilled Orange and Kobe Beef Robata with Tempura Sweet Peppers and home made worcestershire
At this point in the meal, I was not really thinking about taking photos. I just wanted to keep eating until I exploded. I knew there wasn’t much to do at Emo’s anyways. Assorted Makimono
The meal came to a conclusion with two amazing desserts. Fig and Cocounut Sundae and Tofu Beignets with local honey combe
Becareful what you ask for, someone might literally give you what you want.
