Barcelona, Spain
The White Stripes hotel in Barcelona. Made me really want ice cream or to get my hair cut or something.
Now that Smart Cars are in the US, I wonder how long until we get the Smart Sports Car. I would love to drive a Smart Car if they were affordable. If you want to buy me one, I would like Black and Gold.
The billboards for the Circ Aquatic kind of ruined it for me.
I guess it is better than bloody bulls.
We had the whole gang out with their cameras today. There is Heather and Sebastien.
Off in the distance, the cranes about the cathedral.
Look at all this meat, drying aged meat.
It was amazing to think of this in comparison to the Basilica of St. Peter. This is a modern day construction site, and it was started in 1880.
The Sagrada Famila is set to be done in the 2020’s. And that is with the help of modern technology and cranes.
The “art” of it is very modern. Designed by Gaudi, it was never fully conceptualized, and instead has been interpreted thru construction.
A very thin Jesus.
If you can figure out the puzzle, it turns into a robot. At least I think that is what I read. My spanish is a little rusty.
The thing about it still being under construction is there are parts that are just open to the elements, and others that are complete.
And behind a big construction wall, they can actually have mass.
The finished vaults.
Modern scaffolding.
And the cathedral floor as a workshop.
And then parts of the work look like they were completed 100s of years ago.
And are already starting to wear.
The old and new butted up against each other. It is kind of amazing to think of a building not even being done, in a time frame that most of our buildings are replaced. How long was the Kingdome around.
The view of the spire.
Chopper in the stairwell. They like it narrow too.
Is that a pear try? I think those are partridges.
