School Daze

Playing a college show is always interesting.  You end up with a lot of excited people involved in the production side of the show. You usually have to send some %, usually over 50%, of the loaders home to put on real shoes.  Our flight from Orlando was early in the day, but it left LATE.  This meant we barely made the connection at JFK.  We were at the airport for 1 min. Once in Lewiston / Auburn Maine, the twin cities, the other LA, seriously, we checked out The Auburn Novelty Shop. It was closed.  It is open from 10-1, only on Mondays.  My kind of hours.

The hotel was right on the falls.

Not sure why this is so funny, but it is.

Dinner at the college show was at the school cafeteria.  It was not as good as everyone kept saying, but I love an ice cream bar. Mint Chocolate / Vanilla Swirl, with some sort of cereal, maybe fruity pebbles, coffee and strawberry syrup, whipped cream, and sprinkles.  PERFECTION.

The show was in a huge gymnasium, called the Grey Cage.  You can fit the entire student body plus faculty in this room, and still have room to walk around.

Then back to the hotel.  In the morning, Dann and I cruised over to Gritty’s Brew Pub.  Sweet Potato Fries, covered in Smoked Pork and Cheddar Cheese.  A little bit too sweet all the way around, but still a nice breakfast.

Then to the airport, for our day off flight from Portland, ME to BWI.  Guess what, the flight was delayed, about 5 hours.  It sucked. We went to the bar, I got a Lobster Roll.  It sucked even more.

The margarita wasn’t a ton better, but it was HUGE.

Sunset flight into Baltimore.
