In a black van with no windows.
I am 100% sure, well maybe not 100%, and I bet I could find out pretty easily, that every blog post about being in Washington DC has that title.
Started off with a day off. Our hotel was SUPER SPACE-AGE.
My room with a view.
The Hong Kong Express. Jim Beam rye whiskey, essence of cinnamon, organic ginger beer, candied orange.
I was going to say that this didn’t taste as good as it looked, but looking at the picture it actually doesn’t look good either. So not sure what I was expecting. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food.
Hong Kong Express (#2)
In the morning it was time to sight-see, except I felt like shit still, so just a quick little protest viewing. No to the XL Pipeline, from my hotel room window.
Freedom Plaza
DC Statehood.
Since we are playing 2 nights at the 9:30 Club, the set list writing was a little bit of work.
And two nights mean, 2 nights of cupcakes.
And then time to go get a nutritious breakfast in the morning.
And a quick lunch before load-in.
This is some sort of Jews for Jesus Karoke Event / Protest happening in front of The White House.
This was not a temporary sign. I know the government doesn’t have all the money in the world, but let’s try and put our best foot forward please.
This is my production office at the 9:30 Club. I love the 9:30 Club. They always take great care of us there. Except when The Murder City Devils were told we would never play there. We have never played there again.
I had a little time to kill before heading to the airport, and had to get some stuff mailed so headed over the the MLK Post Office.
Riding high, I got a tear in my eye, You know you got to go thru hell, Before you get to heaven.
Home! Well the taxi ride from SEATAC to Little Pink Houses.
