Hanging with Bacon.

Hanging with Bacon.

Bacon claiming her spot

We are still weekending!

All this weekending is tiring work.

Bacon and Gearbox

The many faces of Bacon relaxing

Just spending a rainy day inside.

Like an alligator waiting to strike, the Bacon in her natural habitat, the crook of my knees.

In a black van with no windows.

I am 100% sure, well maybe not 100%, and I bet I could find out pretty easily, that every blog post about being in Washington DC has that title.

Started off with a day off. Our hotel was SUPER SPACE-AGE.

My room with a view.

The Hong Kong Express. Jim Beam rye whiskey, essence of cinnamon, organic ginger beer, candied orange.

I was going to say that this didn’t taste as good as it looked, but looking at the picture it actually doesn’t look good either. So not sure what I was expecting. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food.

Hong Kong Express (#2)

In the morning it was time to sight-see, except I felt like shit still, so just a quick little protest viewing. No to the XL Pipeline, from my hotel room window.

Freedom Plaza

DC Statehood.

Since we are playing 2 nights at the 9:30 Club, the set list writing was a little bit of work.

And two nights mean, 2 nights of cupcakes.

And then time to go get a nutritious breakfast in the morning.

And a quick lunch before load-in.

This is some sort of Jews for Jesus Karoke Event / Protest happening in front of The White House.

This was not a temporary sign. I know the government doesn’t have all the money in the world, but let’s try and put our best foot forward please.

This is my production office at the 9:30 Club.  I love the 9:30 Club. They always take great care of us there. Except when The Murder City Devils were told we would never play there. We have never played there again.

I had a little time to kill before heading to the airport, and had to get some stuff mailed so headed over the the MLK Post Office.

Riding high, I got a tear in my eye, You know you got to go thru hell, Before you get to heaven.

Home! Well the taxi ride from SEATAC to Little Pink Houses.

The ketchup that made Pittsburgh famous.

Objects in image may appear more alive than they are. 4:30am, waiting for my ride to the airport, which never showed.

So, so, so tired. Tired like I was the one time that I broke the wheel off the mcd van leaving ORD. I just sat and stared at the board for a good 15 seconds, trying to remember where the hell I was flying.

Landing in Pittsburgh, they make sure you know that they are proud.

I have only ever caught 1 baseball before, in the stands people. I was actually a catcher when I was a young chap, still in shortpants. It was at this stadium. It drove everyone around me nuts, that I had no idea who hit the ball I caught. Not just which player, but which team. I was just there to kill a day off.

The ketchup that made Pittsburgh famous.

My production office today was actually a lot nicer than it appears if photos.
